Original language description
The aim of the contribution is to demonstrate the extent of organic food production in the Czech Republic and the first results of the FOODLOC project, focused at facilitating the offer of organic and local food in school canteens. Through semi-structured face-to-face interviews with school canteen managers, the current extent of organic and local food in school menus as well as the conditions for their further expansion were investigated. The first results show that while some schools operate in standard scheme driven by wholesalers’ offer and cannot overcome the price barrier, other schools developed contacts to nearby growers.
