VALIDATION OF A HIGH PRESSURE PRIMARY DEW-POINT GENERATOR

  • Original language description

A dew-point generator used at Czech Metrology Institute (CMI) was rebuilt due to a manipulation enhancement need and a work effectiveness enhancement as well as an uncertainty reduction and a construction improvement requirement. An advantage of a reshaped generator is all-welded design which prevents the humidity loss inside a gas path. Another important change relates to an inside parameter of a pipe entering a saturator. Its enlargement is due to the freezing in the input into the saturator. Among another improvements rank a flow rate and pressure regulations. The described changes lead to the new equipment validation. The validation consists of three parts relating to the pressure, the flow rate and the dew-point temperature. Flow efficiency is investigated in the flow rate range from 0.2 la/min to 5.0 la/min. Two dew-point meters (Optidew Vision and S8000 Integrale Chilled Mirror, Michell Instruments) are used as the validation equipment. The influence of the pressure changes (from atmospheric pressure up to 10 MPa) and the pressure stability to the dew-point temperature is again evaluate using two mentioned dew-point meters. Last part of the validation is the influence of the dew-point temperature changes in the range from -50 °C to +15 °C. This contribution is devoted to the validation results. The detailed uncertainty budget as well as sensitivity coefficient and the uncertainty values for individual measurements regime are discussed.
