Phenotypic characterization of human keratinocytes in coculture reveals differential effects of fibroblasts from benign fibrous histiocytoma (dermatofibroma) as compared to cells from its malignant form and to normal fibroblasts
Original language description
Fibroblasts from benign fibrous histiocytoma so as the cells malignant one are phenotypically nearly identical with normal dermal fibroblasts. They differ in activity on keratinocytes; the cells from benign form induce strong expression of keratin 19 andproduction of galectin-1 rich extracellular matrix. The cells from malignant form lead to similar phenotype as normal fibroblasts.
