Effect of Atropa belladonna L. on skin wound healing: Biomechanical and histological study in rats and in vitro study in keratinocytes, 3T3 fibroblasts, and human umbilical vein endothelial cells

  • Original language description

When aqueous extract of Atropa belladonna was used on skin wound treatment in rats, it shortened the time of healing and significantly increased wound stiffness. Under in vitro conditions this extract stimulated expression of keratin 19 in keratinocytesand increased cell proliferation in fibroblasts and human umbilical vein endothelial cells.
