The aim of the study was to compare the effects of diclofenac and piritramide in acute postoperative pain after herniplasty.We compared the effect of first dose of diclofenac or piritramide in 105 patients after hernioplasty in a retrospective manner. Weevaluated the pain intensity and pain relief using visual analogue scale . After the use of piritramide, the pain relief was significantly higher than after diclofenac). We observed higher first dose analgetic effect in patients where piritramide was introduced when compared to diclofenac.
