The aim of our study was to show that cytokeratin (CK) 7 (OV-TL 12/30 clone) is a new, reliable marker for distinguishing between the conjunctival and corneal surface epithelia. The detection of CK7 (OV-TL 12/30 clone) clearly confirms the overgrowth ofthe conjunctival epithelium over the cornea. CK7 appears to be a more reliable marker compared to CK19
