The chapter deals with topic of innovation in early modern medicine using example of two Dutch physicians: Jan Baptist Helmont and Cornelius Bontekoe. We examine how both authors percieved their own innovation vis-a-vis contemporary medical establishment using Helmont's Tumulus Pestis and Bontekoe'sTractaat van het excellenste Kruyd thee.
