The levels of 17-hydroxyprogesterone /17-OHP) were retrospectively analyzed in dried blood spots on newborn screening cards of 110 patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). All patients were diagnosed prior to puberty (77 with severe and 33 with moderate form of CAH). All patients with severe form of CAH would have been detected by newborns screening. However, 10 of 33 patients with moderate CAH would have been missed.

Czech description
Retrospektivně byla změřena koncentrace 17-hydroxyprogesteronu /17-OHP) v suchých kapkách krve na novorozeneckých kartičkách 110 pacientů s kongenitální adrenální hyperplazií (CAH) diagnostikovaných klinicky v prepubertálním období (77 pacientů s těžkouformou CAH a 33 s lehčí formou CAH). Všech 77 pacientů s těžkou formou CAH by bylo novorozeneckým screeningem zachyceno, ale 10 z 33 s lehčí formou CAH mělo koncentraci 17-OHP nižší než cut-off a nebyli by screeningem zachyceni.
