Neuropeptide Y is expressed by rat mononuclear blood leukocytes and strongly down-regulated during inflammation

  • Original language description

NPY mRNA and peptide expression were detected in mononuclear leukocytes isolated from rat kidneys. After renal transplantation, acute allograft rejection resulted in leukocytic NPY expression drastically decreased to 1% of control levels.
