Original language description
Exhaled leukotrienes were assayed in the exhaled breath condensate, for the first time, using a specific gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method. Reference ranges for the concentrations of the respective leukotrienes were characterized in a large group of healthy children and adults and results were compared to those from subjects with bronchial asthma.

Czech description
Původní specifickou metodou (plynová chromatografie s hmotnostní detekcí) se poprvé podařilo analyzovat koncentrace leukotrienů B4, C4, D4 a E4 v kondenzátu vydechovaného vzduchu. Metoda byla použita pro určení referenčního rozmezí v rozsáhlém souboru zdravých osob (dospělích i dětí) a výsledky byly srovnány s nálezy u nemocných s průduškovým astmatem.
