Household Economics Theory: Gender Aspects
Original language description
The paper deals with the gender aspect in microeconomic theory as related to the household economics. The term gender is introduced with its short history; there is a closer look at the term gender as it is used in economic theory today. Tastes, preferences and consumption are briefly examined as they play an essential role in modelling the decision-taking of an individual. On the topic of household economics the paper explain a theoretical model as Becker describe it in order to be able to differentiate labour supply from the gender point of view. There is a short explanation of the theoretical argument for the societal role allocation of men and women. For the analysis of collective decision making among family members neoclassical economists use thegame theory; so the last topic of the paper focuses on the bargaining and decision taking in multiple persons households based on Nash theory application.
