Eastern and Western God: Women in Islamic and Christian Cultures
Original language description
This paper aims to provide analysis of the women in Islamic and Christian Cultures. Differences and similarities in women's behaviour, thinking, perception and interpretation of reality are based on a set of specifically organized and collectively sharedknowledge, symbols, meanings, values and norms women have adopted as members of Islamic or Christian culture. The objective of this study is to analyse the hypothesis that the women's lot in traditional Islamic and Christian cultures was to adhere to cultural patterns of thinking and behaviour strictly set by men and which are a part of religious ideas formulated in the Qur'an and the Bible.
