The oldest mythological run in Egyptian Western Desert? On the possible origins of the sed feast in Ancient Egypt

  • Original language description

The subject of this brief study is a representation of a running man dating back to the sixth millennium BCE. This unique iconographic motif was discovered in a rock shelter in Wadi Sura in the Gilf Kebir and it shows close resemblances to much later representations of the Egyptian king during the sed feast.
