Is Old Czech hlahol a Church Slavonicism?
Original language description
The article deals with OCz noun hlahol 'speech, voice, language, manner of speech' which has not been considered yet as a borrowing from OChS, or a word which was influenced by OChS. OCz, however, would be the only Slavonic language besides Mac and B which would continue PS *golgol7,. Although the meanings of OChS glagol and OCz hlahol do not correspond too much, it is possible that OChS influenced the frequency of the use of the noun and perhaps also development of some meanings (like 'idiom, language'). Thus, OCz hlahol would be basically a continuation of PS golgol7, but with some OChS influence on the spread and development of the word.
