Original language description
The chapter discusses phenomena of multilingualism researched in the framework of Linguistic Landscape studies, ranging from notable absences of languages to efforts for their visibility to the issue of their identification, representation and mutual organization in a sign. In response to the recent theoretical debate about the nature of societal multilingualism as a phenomenon, the chapter suggests its re-specification in terms of ethnomethodology.
