Atomic and/or Renewable Energy Sources in the Mitigation of Climate Change in Czech Law

  • Original language description

This article explores the legal framework surrounding atomic and renewable energy sources in the Czech Republic, focusing on their role in mitigating climate change. Given the rising energy demand and global environmental concerns, the Czech legal system has been adapting to the challenges posed by climate change, energy security, and the transition to sustainable energy sources. This analysis highlights the interaction between the Czech national legislation and European Union (EU) directives, and addresses the legal and environmental conflicts arising from the implementation of renewable and nuclear energy solutions. Furthermore, it discusses the policy strategies and legal reforms necessary to facilitate the transition to a low-carbon energy mix while ensuring energy security.
