Where Do Ukrainian War Refugees Find Hope and Encouragement?

  • Original language description

The Russian-Ukrainian war has forced millions of people to flee in order to escape the dangers to their lives and health, and to avoid violence. This period of conflict, the time of violence and struggle, has brought immense pain, destruction, and hopelessness to the lives of many. However, while some people lose hope and give up, others are able to find hope and encouragement to move forward. In this brief case study, I aim to explore the role of the Bible in encouraging Christians who had to flee Ukraine and seek refuge abroad. Additionally, I examine which Bible texts are seen as most relevant by these Christians. In the questionnaire, participants are asked to provide specific Bible verses along with brief comments on them. There are also questions that explore the relationship between church attendance and consistency in Bible reading.
