This article deals with one of the bestselling recent volumes in philosophy, Martin Hägglund's This Life: Why Mortality Makes Us Free. In this book, Hägglund propagates ideas akin to those promoted within secular humanism. The article places the arguments laid out in this book within post-secular religion-cultural climate currently rising internationally. The most important part of the article is the last section that engages Hägglund's main arguments theologically, in particular his understanding of temporality and eternity.
