Comment to: "Meliorated oxygen reduction reaction of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell in the presence of cerium-zirconium oxide" by B. Yamini Sarada, KS Dhathathreyan, and M. Rama Krishna
Original language description
In a recent article [1], B. Y. Sarada et al. investigated Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 (CZO) as oxygen storage catalyst. CZO was prepared by co-precipitation method and mixed with the Pt/C catalyst, and this catalyst mixture was evaluated for fuel cell application. X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and electrochemical characterizations were performed to explain the performance improvement of the Ce0.8Zr0.2O2-Pt/C cathode catalyst. The results are certainly of high importance because they show the way of increase of activity of PEMFC cathode.
