The diploma thesis presents the issue of the use of the topic of history of childhood in the teaching of history at the 2nd grade of primary schools. The theoretical part is devoted to current didactic trends, which are crucial in the creation of methodological sheets, preparations and other educational activities. Within the framework of the theoretical part, the history of childhood is also described as part of the educational content. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the very creation of methodical sheets and preparation of lessons for classes of the 2nd grade of primary schools. These teaching models are based on research work with a source base. One of the methodological preparations is subsequently implemented as a pedagogical experiment at one of the selected schools, while the conducted experiment is then analyzed and interpreted at the end of the thesis.
