Liberecká stopa v prvních transportech do terezínského ghetta
Original language description
The bachelor's thesis addresses the issue of the so-called ""Final Solution to the Jewish Question."" Specifically, it analyzes the life stories of men who came from or lived for some time in Liberec and who, as Jews under the Nuremberg Laws, were assigned to the so-called Aufbaukommandos (construction squads). Their task was to prepare the Terezín ghetto for the arrival of thousands of people. Based on the analysis of various sources, nine men with ties to Liberec were identified, of whom only one survived until the end of the war. The remaining eight were murdered in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp or the Dachau concentration camp. The aim of this thesis is to symbolically return their stories to the history of the city.
