    This bachelor's thesis focuses on the semantic classification of academic verbs in the Czech language. It explores the potential of various lexicographic and corpus-based resources for systematically describing the meanings, functions, and usage of these verbs in academic texts. The theoretical part summarizes existing research on academic writing and the definitions of academic lexical units, with special emphasis on verbs. It further maps semantic classifications found in English-language literature that can be meaningfully applied to Czech. The practical part presents an analysis of a sample of ten Czech academic verbs based on four key sources: the Academic Dictionary of Contemporary Czech (ASSČ), the valency lexicon Vallex, the frame-based semantic resource FrameNet, and Beth Levin's semantic classification (1993). Emphasis is placed on meanings, semantic nuances, shared semantic features, and verb usage. The research utilizes the SYN2020 and SYN2015 corpora to verify the frequency of specific meanings, identify typical collocates, and compare usage patterns between academic and journalistic texts. The aim of the thesis is to propose suitable resources for further lexicographic work on academic verbs and to highlight the need for more in-depth research in this underexplored area. Keywords:...
