On Trends in Research on Intercultural Communicative Competence
Original language description
On the grounds of the terminological, theoretical as well as thematic differentiation within the field of intercultural education, the paper aims to uncover the main trends within this area with special attention paid to the aim of intercultural education: intercultural communicative competence. The focus of the paper thus is to identify the main research trends connected to the topic of intercultural communicative competence. Based on the accepted theoretical background, thematic analysis procedure will be introduced, i.e. content analysis of influential research studies included in the Web of science database. Using predefined criteria of selection, a set of research studies will be collected and further analyzed according to a number of criteria both quantitatively (e.g. quotation index) as well as qualitatively (e.g. thematic differentiation).
