Analysis of Competitive Ski Mountaineering and the Use of a Hypoxic Environment
Original language description
On the basis of research into the information available, we present information on competitive ski mountaineering and an analysis of the altitude profile for World Cup and Czech Championship races. From our interviews with top Czech competitors, we summarise the present state of training for competitions. Our analysis reveals that there is insufficient systematic training in a hypoxic environment. Taking the present situation into account, we use this information to propose training methods for hypoxictraining that would correspond to the altitude profile for World Cup races, with the aim of improving the performance of the Czech ski mountaineering team. The results will be used to train ski mountaineering coaches, and in the outdoor sports specialisation.
