Monitoring and influencing the determinants of physical and mental functioning of individuals with chronic renal disease and after kidney transplant and its influencing by intervention programs in this project was unique. We have expanded the awareness of the importance of regular physical activity as a non-pharmacological option affecting the health status of individuals on dialysis or after kidney transplant among the professional community of nephrologists, dialysis nurses, physiotherapists, patientsand their family members not only at home but also abroad.The results of partial studies confirmed an increased incidence of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, reduced physical fitness and lower quality of life of patients after kidneytransplant, especially in the first year after the transplant, as compared with a population of healthy individuals.
