This chapter addresses a contemporary discussion of phenomenological methodology. Phenomenology is often used in empirical research (e.g. sport sociology), without proper incorporation philosophical phenomenology. This chapter discusses the difference between philosophical phenomenology and empirical 'phenomenology', based on Heidegger's ontological difference. Further, the chapter presents a possibility of a meaningful incorporation of philosophical phenomenology into empirical science. It presents an example of incorporation of philosophical phenomenology into the area of education.
