Cerebral blood flow detected on SPECT in patients with posttraumatic transtentorial herniation
Original language description
Almost all patients after a severe head injury with transtentorial herniation syndrome suffer from brain ischemia. This early ischemia might be detected on SPECT and treated according to the protocol of adequate cerebral perfusion pressure. In many patients this ischemia is reversible and the improvement of cerebral blood flow might be again detected on repeated SPECT.
