EC-IC bypass in the management of cerebral hemodynamic ischemia.

  • Original language description

The article presents the indications and operations of 32 patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion. The authors used standard low flow extracranial-intracranial bypass (EC-IC) between superficial temporal artery and middle cerebral artery. The inclusion criteria were the same as Schmiedek´s: reccurent cerebral ischemia, ICA occlusion on angiography, normal CT and impaired cerebrovascular reserve capacity CVRC (evaluated by TCD and SPECT). Long-term stroke rate was 0%. Patency of the bypasswas 100%.

  • Czech name

EC-IC bypass v léčbě hemodynamické ischémie.

  • Czech description

Článek pojednává o indikacích a operační léčbě pacientů s okluzí karotidy.
