Identification of plant phenolics as novel PPARγ agonists and hypoglycemic agents
Original language description
he objective of this study was to explore PPARγ agonism and hypoglycemic activity among plant-derived phenolic compounds. We started with a preselection using in silicomolecular docking, and later, the selected compounds were investigated using in vitro cell culture-based assays: PPARγ luciferase reporter gene assay2and PPARγ protein expression (by western blot analysis). Moreover, the ability of the selected compounds to induce GLUT4 translocation in cell culture and lower blood glucose levels in chicken embryos was determined.
