Kalevalaism in the world and Finno-Ugric literature
Original language description
Kalevala has served as a pattern for creating tens of other (Uralic) national epics. We can consider Kalevala as a base of the new trend in uralic literatures, so called kalavalaism. Kalevalaism can be oriented and treated according to different, heterogenous genological criteria, one of whom is historicity of the plot. Kalevala itself is rather a mythography, the historical frame can be identified only in the last runa. Most of the other epics is however historical, or a scale can be made according to the measure of historicity in the story.
