    Preschool age is a very important stage of live for improving psychomotor skills such as running, jumping, throwing and others. These fundamental motor skills influence and form the foundation for health, social, educational and emotional aspects of children life. Early detection of level of psychomotor development could help us with identification of children with motor impairment, prepare appropriate intervention program for them and prevent potential problems in other domains in children’s life. Nowadays, we have an enormous number of diagnostic methods, which are intended to assess the psychomotor development of children. Before we use one of them for research or diagnostic work, we must consider many aspects. This overview study discusses the different aspects of assessment methods of psychomotor development of preschool children. Our aim was to define the psychomotor development, characterize different types of assessment methods and provide review of the most used methods of psychomotor development.
