The paper deals with identification of the former possessor of the so-called Mellon Chansonnier. In 1609, musician Matthaeus Roth from Glatz donated this codex in Freudenthal (now Bruntál, Czech Republic) to the scholar Johann Georg Triegler, who published several works in Latin and German and is famous for his German translation of the medieval treatise De Sphera.
