British In/Out Referendum and the Issue of Immigration : EU Immigration in David Cameron’s EU Discourse
Original language description
Immigration gets often cited as a key valence issue and a major reason why the British citizens voted to leave the European Union. The conference contribution deals with the role that the issue of EU immigration played in the United Kingdom’s (UK) in/out referendum. More specifically, it researches the ways in which the issue of EU immigration was interpreted and narrated by the then British Prime Minister, David Cameron, during his premiership (2010-2016).
