Chromatogrphic Separation of Polycyclic Aromatic Nitrogen Heterocycles
Original language description
Potential of reverse phase - high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) for separation and determination of polycyclic aromatic nitrogen heterocycles (PANHs) is discussed. Effect of acetonitrile/buffer mobile phase composition on retention behaviour of individual analytes on C18 stationary phases was investigated, to find a suitable conditions for separation of PANHs in a mixture with some other polycyclic aromatic compounds (e.g. PAH). The large variability in mobile phase composition allows effective properties controlling of RP-HPLC determination of PANHs in particular samples. Low limits of detection (LODs) obtained for individual PANHs using two detection techniques (UV-DAD and FD) indicate the possibility to use the method as an alternativemethod of determination of PANHs in environmental samples. The comparison with other methods of PANHs determination is presented.
