How to increase student's motivation to choose a technical profession
Original language description
The lack of young people deciding to study technical and scientific fields becomes a crucial social problem. This dangerous trend may result in shortages of skilled researchers and technicians involved in the highly sophisticated research. Without effective measures, we can assume the current situation will continue to deteriorate. Lowering the role of technical and scientific disciplines, however, relates to all levels of schools and thus it will affect the number of researchers. This can be avoided only by promoting these disciplines at the elementary schools. However, there is a lack of sophisticated methods how to create courses in technical disciplines, a lack of detailed instructions and how to use them in the teaching at basic schools wishing towork towards their pupils in technical fields. As a part of the National Research Program II NPV - 41001 No 2E08026 - DIDACTEX the methodology using the example of the R&D in textile sector in primary schools will be presented.
