Original language description
A class teacher is the coordinating and integrating factor with series of important educational tasks in relation to the pupils of his class, their parents, to other teachers of the school, its management and, under certain circumstances, also to the general public. For the needs of this study, the activities of the class teacher are understood as the activities performed by the class teacher, which consist mainly in the direct relation with the function of the class teacher. The competences are prerequisites of successfully performed activities. The article presents experience with the research in the form of a sample survey and analyzes the concept of function of the class teacher from the point of view of the parents and teachers of primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Also, it focuses on the frequency of educational questions solved by pupils and their parents with the class teachers.
