Our individual media style in a part of our lifestyle. This paper sums up the problems of forming the media competences of children and youth. It?s focused all over the area of audiovisual-program-reception. The media competences are expressively formedin adolescence, when young people form their own media style. In the paper are presented the results of the research project realized on more than 2 000 members of Czech-Slovak Film Database (www.csfd.cz).
