K populárně naučným historickým a historicko-didaktickým časopisům vydávaným v letech 1946-1989 a jejich využití v současném školním dějepisu
Original language description
Popular educational magazines are educational aids that can make a significant contribution towards improving and enriching history teaching. Although such magazines do not provide new solutions to academic problems, they should, just like specialist studies and monographs, be characterised by scientific objectivity and accuracy. Development of the popularisation of history and its connection with the didactics of history occurred in Czechoslovakia after the Second World War. This paper focuses on popular educational historical and historio-didactic magazines, opportunities for their use in teaching, changes relating to content and graphic design, the impact of ideology during the period of communist totalitarianism, and the new flourishing and pitfalls in the popularisation of history before 1989. Attention is also devoted to selected popular educational magazines published in neighbouring countries that are now available for use in school history teaching.
