Nutrition habits in boys attending three secondary schools in the Czech Republic
Original language description
Eating habits are formed as early as in the pre-school period and become more stable in younger school age. The biggest influence on eating habits of children comes from their parents, or other relatives respectively, who live with them in one household(e.g. elder siblings or grandparents). Later, there may also occur the influence of school, friends and surroundings. This work carried out a questionnaire research with the aim to find out whether there are any differences in eating habits in three groups of boys of the same age who attended different kind of school. The informants included students of grammar schools, students of secondary professional school with a school-leaving exam and apprentices attending vocational school without taking school-leaving exam. As far as education towards correct eating habits is concerned, it can be assumed that the best education shall be granted by the grammar school.
