The health promotion Model provides a theoretical framework exploring relationships which aid healthy lifestyle behaviours of individuals, such as perticipationnin sport and recreational activities. Research od adolescents in South Africa ondicates thata number of health risk behaviours are established in adolescence and effect health and well-being in later life. The findings presebnted in current study suggest the importance role that parents play in adolescent decision making styles and healthy lifestyle behaviours, particularly the role of fathers.
