In our paper we reflect upon suicidal and death ideation in the late works of Sylvia Plath and Sarah Kane - two female authors who committed suicide in young adult age. We try to concentrate on the external and internal factors in their lives which mighthave facilitated the suicidal process and were reflected in their poetry (Sylvia Plath) and dramatic work (Sarah Kane). We try to analyze their late works and evaluate the risk for suicide as reflected in them with respect to theories of suicide.

Czech description
V příspěvku se pokoušíme popsat suicidální fenomény v pozdní tvorbě; Sylvie Plathové a Sarah Kaneové - dvou autorek, které spáchaly sebevraždu ve věku mladší dospělosti. Zaměřujeme se na vnější a vnitřní faktory v jejich života, které mohly facilitovat suicidální proces a byly reflektovány v jejich poezii (Sylvia Plathová) a dramatické tvorbě; (Sarah Kaneová). Pokoušíme se analyzovat tato pozdní díla autorek a zhodnotit rizikové faktory sebevraždy s odkazem k příslušným teoriím.
