Business Cycle and Railways in the Czech Republic 1993-2010

  • Original language description

Over the period 1993-2010, the business cycle in the Czech Republic significantly determined the railway transport performance, which is especially true of freight transport, where we can identify performance stagnation in the period of economic boom andits slump during recessions in 1990-1992, 1997-1999, 2008-2009. The development of passenger railway transport also responded to the development of the business cycle, but it was less sensitive to fluctuations than the development of railway freight transport.
