Methodological Context of Evaluation of the Czech Insurance Market
Original language description
The paper focuses on the area of the insurance market and the statistics that form the basis for the assessment of its level. The main objective of this paper is to present different methodical approaches for data reporting, particularly in the conditions of the Czech insurance market, where the Czech National Bank, the Czech Statistical Office and the Czech Insurance Association represent significant statistical sources. The second objective of the paper is to assess and comment on the choice of indicators for specific analyses within the Czech insurance market. As regards the choice of indicators, it is necessary to take into account the nature of the insurance product, among others the question how long the indemnity is going to be paid out and whether it is possible to determine the total amount of the loss at the very beginning of the claim adjustment. Therefore, it is necessary to differentiate between property insurance and liability insurance.
