Designing an ESP Course
Original language description
The article aims to discuss the multilevel process of the ESP course design for the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University in Brno. Considering the different requirements of various disciplinary cultures as well as the lack of the specific disciplinary education of language teachers, it appears that an effective solution might be designing a course around a common framework of selected language functions and academic skills while allowing sufficient room for the specifics of typical disciplinary genres.
