MicroRNAs and Lung Cancer
Original language description
Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. Alterations in microRNA (miRNA) funtionality are frequently found in malignancies, including lung cancer. In this chapter, we summarize the current understanding of miRNAs in lung cancer pathogenesis, and highlight their potential in early diagnosis, in extending histological sub-classification techniques, in overcoming drug resistance, and serving not only as biomarkers for risk stratification and outcome prediction, but also as potential therapeutic targets in lung cancer.
