Trends in the Development of Anticorrosive Pigments
Original language description
The most widely used way of protection of the metallic materials against the degradation effects of atmospheric corrosion consists in the application of organic coatings to which the anticorrosive pigments are applied. The paper summarizes the hitherto kin laboratory-scale so as those available on a commercial basic. There are discussed the mechanisms of corrosion-inhibition mechanisms of the action of anticorrosive pigments. Using particular examples the types of chemically, electrochemically, and viaapplications are presented. The factors affecting the development of new anticorrosive pigments are analyzed both with respect to the pigment alone and to the character of the binders of advanced types.
