Perspectives of the Further Development of Anticorrosive Pigments.
Original language description
The most widely used way of protection of the metallic materials against the degradation effects of atmospheric corrosion consists in the application of organic coatings, to which the anticorrosive pigments are applied. The paper summarizes the hithertoin laboratory-scale so as those available on a commercial base. There are discussed the mechanisms of corrosion-inhibition mechanisms of the action of anticorrosive pigments. Using the particular examples the types of chemically, electrochemically, and vapplications are presented. The factors affecting the development of new anticorrosive pigments are analyzed both with respect to the pigment alone, and with respect to the character of the binders of advanced types.
