Charge Effects of Dispersed Systems and Membrane Surface on Cross-Flow Microfiltration
Original language description
The influence of particle size and zeta-potential of the feed particles (TiO2) and a membrane surface (alfa-Al2O3) with changes of pH on permeate flux during microfiltration using a tubular ceramic membrane have been studied. The properties of alumina tubular membranes and the aqueous titania dispersions were measured and related to the filtration characteristics. The experimental system is also described. It was found that permeate flux was dependent on the surface charge of the suspended particles andto some extent dependent on the surface charge of the membrane. This phenomenon was especially pronounced during microfiltration of dispersion around its isoelectric point, when permeate flux increased significantly.

Vliv náboje disperzní soustavy a povrchu membrány na cross-flow mikrofiltraci
