Preparation and structures of [2-(dimethylamino)phenyl]diorganotin(IV) acetates substituted with organophosphorus groups in the alpha-position of the acetate ligand

  • Original language description

Organotin(IV) carboxylates (R2LSnOC)-Sn-NC(O)CH2P(E)Ph-2, where L-NC is an N-chelating 2-(dimethylamino)phenyl group, and R/E = Ph/void (1a), Ph/O (1b), Ph/S (1c), Me/void (2a), Me/O (2b) and Me/S (2c), were synthesized, characterized by H-1, C-13, P-31and Sn-119 NMR, IR and MS spectra, and the solid-state structures of 1b, 1c, 2b and 2c were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Spectral and structural data showed that the compounds are monomeric in CDCl3 solution and the solid state, with the organophosphorus groups in the alpha-position of the monodentate carboxylate ligands not interacting with the tin atom. Structure and properties of double-C,N-chelated tri-and diorganotin(IV) halides

  • Czech description

Tri- and di-organotin(IV) compounds containing one or two 2-(dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl-(L-CN) groups as chelating ligands were prepared by reactions of lithium compound (LLi)-Li-CN with an appropriate amount of (organo)tin halide. The geometry of tin in1 ((L-CN)(2)SnPhCl) is on the boundary between octahedral and trigonal bipyramidal. The diorganotin compounds 2-4 ((L-CN)(2)SnX2, where X = Cl, Br, I) have a distorted octahedral geometry in the solid state and show dynamic processes in solution with alowering of activation energy of the dynamic process going from diiodide to dichloride derivative. Compound 5 ((LSnPhCl2)-Sn-CN) has a trigonal bipyramidal structure with non-equivalent chlorine atoms. Copyright (c) 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
