Vanadocene(IV) dicyanide complexes: The evidence superhyperfine coupling for compounds with 13CN ligands

  • Original language description

EPR study of vanadocene complexes (C5H5)2V(CN)2 and (CH3C5H4)2V(CN)2 was done. Such compounds show strong super-hyperfine coupling (|aiso(13C)| ~ 11.85 x 10-4 cm-1) when 13C labeled cyanide was used for their preparation. Super-hyperfine splitting was observed in isotropic spectra of solution samples as well as in anisotropic spectra of frozen solutions. Such study was suplemented with structural characterization of parent compounds. Molecular structure of complex (CH3C5H4)2V(CN)2 was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Both compounds were characterized by infrared and Raman spectra.
